DONATE TODAY

Clearing out your garage, downsizing or doing a spring clean?

Give your unwanted items a second life by donating them to U-turn. You can drop off your items at any U-turn location, or if your donation is too large for your car, request a collection by clicking on the button above.

Your donations are either given to someone experiencing homelessness as they begin their journey out of homelessness (in exchange for Mi-change vouchers) or sold through U-turn Thrift Shops.

Our shops also provide work opportunities, stipends and on-the-job training for formerly homeless Champions in U-turn’s Phase 3 Work-Readiness programme.

What can you donate?

1. Clothing

We accept most secondhand clothing. Please note that we cannot accept branded clothing (e.g. company or UCT logos), underwear, single shoes or socks.

Washed and undamaged clothing makes a big difference, although all donated clothing is laundered.

2. Household goods

Bric-a-brac, furniture, beds, bedding and almost anything else you no longer need.

3. Office equipment

We can collect larger quantities of office furniture, computers and other equipment. Request a collection by clicking the button above.

Donated office equipment is used to support U-turn’s offices, shops and operations where possible. Items we cannot use are sold in our charity shops.

Please note:

SARS does not allow Section 18A certificates to be issued for donated secondhand goods.
